Mark F. Dzialga
General Partner
General Atlantic Partners, LLC (www.gapartners.com)

Mark F. Dzialga is a General Partner at General Atlantic Partners, LLC, a global private equity firm, where he has worked since 1998. Mr. Dzialga has extensive experience in enterprise software, information technology and business process outsourcing. In his capacity as a General Partner at General Atlantic, Mr. Dzialga is director of several public and private companies including Exult, Brigade, Creditek, Schaller Anderson and UPromise. Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Dzialga was the Co-Head of the High Technology Mergers Group at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Dzialga was with Goldman Sachs from 1990 to 1998 and advised many of the firm's largest technology clients on acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, joint ventures and restructurings. Mr. Dzialga graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, and has a B.S. degree in Accounting from CanisiusCollege.


Kelly M. Williams
Managing Director
Credit Suisse First Boston Customized Fund Investment Group (www.csfb.com)

Kelly joined CSFB in 2000 as a result of its merger with Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette and had previously been a Director in DLJ's Customized Fund Investment Group where she was responsible for developing and managing customized private equity investment programs for clients. CSFB's Customized Fund Investment Group manages more than $8 billion of commitments to more than 450 private equity and venture capital funds globally for its clients. The Customized Fund Investment Group specializes in designing tailored portfolios for investors who are seeking customized solutions for their private equity investment needs.

Prior to joining DLJ, Kelly was an Executive Director with Prudential Financial's private equity group where she had responsibility for the operations of its fund investment group. Kelly was primarily responsible for product development and legal support for Prudential's Private Equity Group from 1996 to 1999, during which time she developed eight private equity funds globally. Kelly joined Prudential in 1993 as counsel for a Prudential unit that specialized in providing private debt and equity for global infrastructure projects. Prior to joining Prudential, Kelly was an associate with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy, where she specialized in global project finance.

Kelly graduated magna cum laude from Union College in 1986 with a degree in Political Science and Mathematics and received her law degree from New York University School of Law in 1989.


Stuart Ellman
General Partner

Stuart is a General Partner of RRE Ventures. Since co-founding the firm in late 1994, Mr. Ellman has been responsible for more than 20 information technology investments and currently serves as a Director of Ember Corporation, MessageOne, Odyssey Logistics, Capital Thinking and White Amber. Mr. Ellman is also on the Board of Directors of the

92nd Street
Y and the Venture Investors Association of New York.

From 1992-1994, he was a co-founder and Vice President at Advisory Capital Partners, a principal investment and advisory firm. In 1991, Mr. Ellman was an Associate at Morgan Stanley & Co., specializing in fixed income capital markets. From 1988-1990, he served as a Financial Analyst at Dillon, Read & Co., focused on leveraged buyouts and restructurings. In 1987, he worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Co. in Sydney Australia.

Mr. Ellman holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard University and a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University where he was a Gilbert Clee Scholar and a Horace White Fellow.


Bo Yaghmaie
Senior Partner
Pillsbury Winthrop (www.pillsburywinthrop.com)

Mr. Yaghmaie's practice entails the representation of private and publicly-held emerging growth high technology and life science companies, leading investment banks and venture capital funds, with a particular focus on private placements and venture financings, public offerings of equity and debt securities, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Yaghmaie has played an instrumental role in many of the leading technology transactions in New York's Silicon Alley, and regularly represents numerous venture-backed companies and venture capital funds. In addition, Mr. Yaghmaie has been involved in more than 30 public offerings, including public offerings by Albany Molecular Research, Best Software, Emcore, Globix, Knight/Trimark, Myriad Genetics, Predictive Systems, StarMedia and Tellium. Mr. Yaghmaie regularly advises Credit Suisse First Boston, Goldman Sachs & Co., Morgan Stanley and other technology-focused investment banks.

Mr. Yaghmaie has participated as a faculty of the Practicing Law Institute and has authored the chapter in the Securities Filings volume entitled, "Compliance with the Securities Act in the Acquisition Context." Mr. Yaghmaie is also a contributing editor of VC Experts' Venture Capital Encyclopedia and a member of the Advisory Board of the Silicon Alley Entrepreneurs Club.

Before joining Pillsbury, Mr. Yaghmaie was a co-founding partner of the New York office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Mr. Yaghmaie holds a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. from Emory University. Education: J.D., Boston University School of Law B.A., Emory University

Mathew S. Guliner
Founder and President

Mathew Guliner is currently managing two startups, The Guliner Company and EG Film Ventures. At The Guliner Company, Mr. Guliner advises and assists media and technology related startups on their business development, strategy and capital raising endeavors. At EG Film Ventures, Mr. Guliner works intimately with film funds, film libraries, production companies and independent producers on the capital raising and business development activities. Previously, Mr. Guliner worked at Meyer and Company, an early stage venture capital firm focused on technology, and media related start-ups. Mr. Guliner was responsible for all aspects of the investment process including sourcing and analyzing new investments, orchestrating and executing underwriting procedures including due diligence, valuation work, term sheet origination and deal negotiation and assisting in managing portfolio companies. Previously, Mr. Guliner was with Credit Suisse First Boston, in their Investment Banking Division. Working in the firm's proprietary valuation and strategy group, Mr. Guliner is actively involved in analyzing a variety of companies and industries. Prior to this role, Mr. Guliner was a member of the Equity Research Department at CSFB. Covering Telecommunications and Technology companies for their proprietary value based group, Mr. Guliner produced and published reports on valuation and industry analysis for the firm's Investment banking teams and other members of the Telecommunication and Technology groups. Prior to joining CSFB, Mr. Guliner was a research analyst at Archery Capital L.L.C. Mr. Guliner was responsible for company specific and industry wide analysis primarily focused on high technology and telecommunications companies for both the public equity portfolio and also the firm's sole venture capital portfolio. Mr. Guliner is a candidate for level 2 of the CFA and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University's School of Management and is currently pursuing an MBA at New York University's Stern School of Business.

Susie Truong

Vice President and Head of Boston Chapter

Susie works for Leerink Swann & Co, a boutique investment bank focused on healthcare and life sciences. Prior to Leerink Swann & Co, Susie was a portfolio analyst, evaluating real estate investments and interned for an Asia-focused venture capital firm. Susie is a Founding Member of the Women's Association for Venture & Equity (WAVE), a candidate for the Level I CFA and an active participant in women's issues and organizations. In addition, she helps emerging biotech companies connect with private funding. Susie received her BS Business Administration from CSU Long Beach and is currently completing a Masters (ALM) in Biology at Harvard University.

Amy Jurries

Vice President and Head of London Chapter

Amy Jurries is currently working for Advent Venture Partners, an early- stage technology venture capital firm based in London, UK.

Prior to joining Advent, Amy had accumulated 11 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. She began her career at Ericsson, working as Product Manager within various wireless product units across North America and Europe. After Ericsson, she spent two years at a VC-backed wireless software company based in London, where she established strategic partnerships with top tier service providers and infrastructure companies.  Before moving into venture capital, Amy was at Motorola, managing the handset product operations group for EMEA and SE Asia.

Amy holds a BA in Mathematics and French from St. Olaf College, an MSc in Systems Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from London Business School.

 


YVCS Palo Alto

Rui Ma

Vice President and Co-Head of Palo Alto Chapter

Miss Ma is currently an Investment Banking Analyst in the Merrill Lynch Technology group located in Palo Alto, CA. Prior to Merrill Lynch, she worked as a Systems Analyst with Deloitte Consulting where she specialized in customizing Siebel applications for corporate and government clients.  Her career interests are in early stage venture
capital, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, and she hopes to be a technology entrepreneur herself one day.
 
Miss Ma graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences and a minor in Business Administration.

AK Mavani

Vice President and Co-Head of Palo Alto Chapter

Mr. Mavani is an entrepreneur, with start-up experience in SE. Asia and China. He is currently reading for an MBA at the Stanford Graduate school of Business, and is interested in early stage technology venture, entrepreneurship and private equity.Mr. Mavani Graduated with a bachelors in engineering from the University of Sheffield and masters from the University of Cambridge.

Jeffrey Paine
Vice President and Co-head of the YVCS Singapore Chapter

Mr. Paine is currently a a Vice President of Cutler Asia LLC, a manufacturing focused private equity firm based in the US with offices in the UK, Singapore and Shanghai. He also provides corporate development advisory to the foreign industrial/manufacturing companies in the lower middle market interested to do business in Mainland China.

Prior to Cutler Asia, Mr. Paine was an Investment Manager for MPH Ventures, a S$20 million corporate venture capital fund of MPH Limited (now part of Singapore Press Holdings Limited) in Singapore, specializing in venture capital investments in the Media, and Technology sectors. In addition, he also served concurrently as Head of Strategic Planning & Business Development and Contract Publishing for MPH Magazines, the media and publishing subsidiary of MPH Limited (renamed BluInc Media Group) overseeing China, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Before joining MPH, Mr. Paine worked for KPMG LLP, in Los Angeles, mainly in Risk Advisory Services. Mr. Paine graduated from University of Southern California¹s Marshall School of Business with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese.

Ash Singh
Vice President and Co-head of the YVCS Singapore Chapter

Ash, a Canadian National, serves as the head of the Social and Business Networking Division for Ad.WRIGHT and also manages the Ad.WRIGHT Holdings portfolio of external companies. He is the creator and founder of Sikhpal.com and Sikhiwiki.com . He completed his Honours Business Administration degree at the Richard Ivey School of Business and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Reginald E. Greiner, Jr.
Vice President, Business Development and Strategy, Southeast Region US

Mr. Greiner has spent nearly 10 years in leadership roles for an array of companies with domestic US and international operations. Most recently, Mr. Greiner came out of UBS' Strategic Investments Group that was responsible for over $2 Billion in Committed Capital.  He has considerable experience in private equity and entrepreneur start-up and early stage growth companies spanning such industries as wireless / telecom, financial services, retail, and consumer products. He has sat on the Board of a multitude of companies and currently is a partner with Southeastern Capital Partners an affiliate of The Capital Corporation, a middle-market investment bank based in South Carolina. Has successfully lead several companies through financial and operational restructurings. Mr. Greiner holds a Finance degree from Siena College and has a Certificate in International Business that was obtained through the Washington Semester in Washington DC.

Chris Grottenthaler

Vice President and Co-Head of D.C. Chapter

Mr. Grottenthaler recently joined the Young Venture Capital Society as Vice President of the Washington, D.C. Chapter.  He brings over 3 years experience in strategic and competitive analysis for numerous companies in the Washington, D.C. area. Mr. Grottenthaler has worked with risk consulting services, media companies, and private entrepreneurs.

Through his consulting services, Mr. Grottenthaler has effectively advised on issues ranging from IT integration to private acquisitions and business strategy. He has participated on C-level industry analysis and positioned clients as favorable acquisition targets. Additionally, Mr. Grottenthaler has provided viability research on private equity investments, market segmentation, and information systems.

Prior to his consulting services, Chris was a Business Analyst with the Associated Press Broadcast Division in Washington, D.C.  At AP, he worked with the Business Affairs and Strategic Planning departments to identify competitive issues for product development as well as research of intellectual property violations. 

Currently, Chris is focusing his career in venture capital and private equity investments. He is completing his M.B.A. in Finance at American University, where he also serves as VP of the Graduate Business Association. Mr. Grottenthaler is a native of the Washington, D.C. area and currently resides in Arlington, Virginia.  He is a graduate of James Madison University with a B.A. in International Affairs and an Associate Member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Samuel Kwok

Vice President and Co-head of Hong Kong Chapter

Sam Kwok is a Director at Pacific Venture Investments, an investment firm focused on early-stage technology companies in Greater China.
